On the initiative of the Foundation, the “Time of Change” mural was opened in Kyiv
On October 19, on the initiative of the “Modern Ukraine” Charitable Foundation, a new mural called “Time of Changes” appeared in the capital’s Podil district.
Its author is Volodymyr Manzhos, a Ukrainian artist and former member of the “Interesting Tales” duet.
The concept of the mural has a special meaning, when a Ukrainian defeats a Russian invader, as a symbol of the imperial intentions of modern Russia.
“This is a metaphor reflecting the historical events that befell our generation,” says the author of the mural, Volodymyr Manzhos. In his opinion, this work is a symbol of the determination of Ukrainians in the fight against the enemy and hope for our speedy victory”.
Along with Volodymyr Manzhos and the Foundation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Cultural Fund, the Department of Public Communications of the KMDA, the Vanguard Museum and many others became partners in the implementation of the plan.
According to the President of the Foundation, Volodymyr Havrysh, the opening of the mural is also the start of the great art tour Ukraine the Best.
“Our goal is to show in all 22 countries of Europe, where the tour will take place, that our nation is capable of fighting to the victorious end. And what can better demonstrate this national spirit of Ukrainianness than our culture and its heritage in modern art?”.
That is why, as Havrysh notes, as part of the art tour, the European community will be presented with a unique exhibition “Big Seven 2.0”, which includes the works of great Ukrainian artists — Taras Shevchenko, Maria Prymachenko, Oleksandr Arkhipenko, who are cultural symbols of Ukraine.
Also, the Foundation team, in cooperation with the author of the “Big Seven 2.0” project Yuriy Komelkov, will show a bust of Taras Shevchenko, who was shot in Borodyanka. They also plan to create murals of a similar theme in each of the European cities visited by the tour.
By the way, in addition to Volodymyr Havrysh, the head of the Central Office of the Foundation, Tetyana Shcherbak, and the head of the Department of Public Communications of the KMDA, Roman Lelyuk, also spoke at the opening of the mural, and the performance of national motifs by invited musicians was a creative addition to the event.
The guests present at the event and ordinary Kyivans looked at the new work of art with delight and were especially happy that now against the background of the heavy daily news of the wartime, their eyes will be pleased with such an original mural, reminding every time of the importance of being steadfast and moving step by step towards victory.
