The Foundation will help create a sculpture in Lutsk that will become a symbol of the reunification of Ukrainian families
The Charity Foundation «Modern Ukraine» will support the creation of a new tourist location in the central park of Lutsk. The opening of the art object in the Lutsk City Council was planned on the eve of City Day, at the beginning of September.
The figures of a man and a woman with a child, who go to meet each other, will be placed on concrete ferry crossings, which were built back in the 60s, when the Styr was a navigable river.
It is interesting that the art project will unite two communities at once – Lutsk and Boratynsk, which is also very symbolic.
This was agreed upon by the President of the Charitable Foundation Volodymyr Havrysh and Lutsk Mayor Ihor Polishchuk during a meeting in the Lutsk City Council.
The head of the city liked the idea of the sculptor, who was inspired by the landscapes of Lutsk and the special mission of Volyn – as a transit region from which thousands of Ukrainian women and children left for the countries of the European Union during the war, escaping from the war.
«This installation has a deep meaning that is understandable to every Ukrainian family», said the Mayor of Lutsk.
«The sculpture «Reunification» is about family values, about the optimistic prospects of Ukraine, because the only motivation of the soldiers who are now heroically defending the interests of Ukraine is not war, but to return home, to their families, with victory, with faith in peace the future of Ukraine for their children, grandchildren, and nephews», says the author of the idea and sculptor Yevhen Prymachenko.
According to him, the figures of a man and a woman will be placed on different banks of the river on concrete ferry crossings, which seem to have been waiting for their time for half a century to become part of the tourist location of the city. The height of the sculptures will be a little over 3 meters and they will be made of Corten steel. This is a special alloy that, despite the effect of aged iron, has high strength and will last for at least 70 years.
«The flow of water, the starry sky and the sculpture of the Kyiv artist Yevgeny Prymachenko will become the basis of a new cultural location in the regional center of Volyn on the bank of the main water artery of Lutsk», said Tetyana Hnativ, director of the culture department of the Lutsk City Council.
According to her, the head of the Lutsk City Council Ihor Polishchuk made a lot of efforts to make the Central Park named after Lesia Ukrainka a decoration of the city and a favorite place of rest for Lutsk residents and guests of the regional center. Another promising idea remained the creation of a location for cultural recreation of the townspeople, a place where they can organize open-air movie viewings or chamber evenings with talented artists.
To do this, near the central beach, it was planned to clear the area of bushes along the banks of the river, to install benches and other useful things for quality recreation of the townspeople. The multi-element sculpture, which will be installed in the coastal zone at the expense of the Charitable Foundation «Modern Ukraine» for City Day, will become another tourist highlight of the city, which will start the arrangement of the cultural space in the park.
Volodymyr Havrysh, the president of the Charitable Foundation, said that the Foundation was founded half a year before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine, and when the war began, it concentrated all its efforts on helping the military. During this time, the Foundation’s team managed to attract and transfer more than 40 million hryvnias of aid to the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Ukraine received part of the aid thanks to cooperation with the Volyn regional military administration.
In order to accumulate funds for the needs of the army, the management of the Foundation started many international projects and established relations with the ministries of various countries with the help of cultural diplomacy. It is through art, which is an understandable language on all continents of the world, that it was possible to get serious support for the needs of the military and the affected population.
«Since the state currently does not support Ukrainian artists and culture financially, we involve the artistic elite in our international projects, thereby bringing Ukrainian culture and identity to Europe and inspiring Ukrainian artists to be useful in this struggle. After all, everyone in his place brings the victory of Ukraine closer with the skills he has. Thanks to our partners, we will be able to spend about 8,000 dollars on the implementation of the project in Lutsk. This is our gift to the regional center of Volyn for City Day», Volodymyr Havrysh emphasized.
It should be noted that recently one of the hospitals in Volyn received modern furniture from the volunteers of the Foundation.
