Humanitarian aid from Volyn has arrived in Kherson (photo report)
On Thursday, June 15, volunteers of the Modern Ukraine Charitable Foundation, together with partners from the DobroDiy Charity Exchange and ConcordBank, worked in the Kherson region.
As part of the humanitarian mission to the region affected by the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP, benefactors brought aid that had been collected and sent from Volyn the day before.
Namely: 20,000 liters of drinking water, 50 gasoline motor pumps, 7 generators, a Bluetti AC200 Max charging power station, 6,400 cans of stewed meat with porridge, 200 kg. animal feed and much more.
Part of the cargo was unloaded at the warehouse of the Ship District Administration. Its leader Nataliya Chornenka said that since 2014 she had been actively volunteering for the front and never thought that she would be forced to seek help herself.
Today, contacts in the volunteer environment help the woman not only to quickly respond to actual challenges of the region, but also to deliver humanitarian support to other affected areas of the region.
The second part of the aid was unloaded at the warehouses of the regional military-civilian administration. There, they talked with its head, Oleksandr Prokudin, who spoke about the real situation in the region and voiced additional needs that the region is currently experiencing.
In addition, the Foundation’s team led by President Volodymyr Havrysh completed two more important tasks. In particular, she visited the family of Tetyana Pavelko, a nurse of the Kherson Regional Children’s Hospital, who during the occupation, together with her colleagues, saved more than one Ukrainian baby from illegal deportation to Russia.
The day before, Ms. Tetiana asked the Foundation for help in purchasing a washing machine and a refrigerator, which our volunteers handed over during the meeting.
Also, the head of «Modern Ukraine» met in Kherson with Oleg Murashko, one of the participants of the For Kids UA social project, and his mother.
He inquired about the boy’s well-being after the treatment paid for by the Foundation, and also surprised the young Kherson man with a nice gift. At the request of his mother, the Foundation bought to him a modern tablet that will help the boy during distance learning and to explore the fascinating world around him.
Once again, we sincerely thank everyone who participated in the preparation and implementation of the humanitarian mission to Kherson.
Respect for the boundless work in the field, endurance and incredible stability to the team of our representative in the Kherson region Andrii Zaverukha.
Special thanks for the support to the Kherson neighbors from Mykolaiv – Serhiy Melnychenko, from Kirovohrad – Andriy Moroz and other volontiers from this region.
But most of all, sincere words of thanks to our partners and friends – the Charity Exchange «DobroDiy», ConcordBank, the company for the production of mineral water «Yodanka», the head of the Volyn regional state administration Yury Pogulyaiko, the Volyn patroness Alla Kostyuchko, the deputy of the Kovel city council Andrii Milinchuk, a member of the honorary to Serhii Taradyuk, member of the Supervisory Board of the Foundation, Pavel Denischuk, members of the Management Board, Volodymyr Veremchuk, Yevgeny Havlovskyi, and Vasyl Savchyn from Lviv.
In addition, we also want to acknowledge the support of this trip by our Norwegian friends, dedicated volunteers Ron Bon Olsen and Svein-Helge. Despite the distance, they were also able to help the residents of the Kherson region.
